Like children at Christmas
Who simply can't wait,
They creep through the darkness
Bent on tempting their fate.

They find all the presents
And carefully peek
Inside each pretty package,
Inside each prequel leak.

Though I have to admit
With no shame or remorse
I am one of those "Fanboys"
Who likes peeking - of course.

You can find me, each evening
Surfing Jedi-dot-net,
"Counting down" to the prequels,
Surfing Newsdroid, you bet!

Hanging out at TheForce Net,
Scouring Vonhogen's page,
Checking out Aint-It-Cool-News,
Just like kids half my age.

But I always come back
To my virtuous friends
Here at ol' Echo Station
Where the fun never ends.

Sure, they don't want to hear it
When I say, "Here's the scoop!"
They would rather be virgins
Than to hear all the poop.

They will go to the film
With their hearts and minds pure.
They will see through a child's eyes,
Full of wonder, for sure.

As for me, I will still love
Uncle George's nice gift
Though I know what's inside it
It still gives me a lift.

There are plenty of places
I can find prequel news.
But there's only one Echo
When it comes to "who's who's."

There is only one place
On the whole World Wide Wait
You can find George's humor,
Jody's insight, Ferrett's bait.

And who else brings you Gini,
And Loren, and Dave?
Not to mention the others
Who have come here to rave.

And besides, if you must know,
It gives me a thrill
To know something they don't
From the old rumor mill.

So I'll keep coming back
Once or twice every day.
Just to pick up my email,
Read the columns, and pray

That the Station will thrive
That you'll all stay right here,
That you'll lend us your presence
For the rest of the year --

And beyond, don't forget
That our dream stays alive
Until Episode III
Due in 2005!

After that, I've no doubt
Books and comics will pour
Off the presses. And who knows?
Uncle George may write more!

So my wish is for you
To enjoy EchoStation
Prequel Virgins and Whores
All across this great nation.

And I'll say, as this column
Scrolls away out of sight,
